Attorney Spartak Ngjela argued that the fact that Meta was not invited to the PES Congress shows that they have suspended him and are pending expulsion.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, Ngjela described the practice followed by the Freedom Party, where the position of the chairman is shared within the family, as the very rhetoric of a dictatorship.
“The fact that they didn’t invite him, means they took the measure of suspension and they will set conditions that as long as you are the leader of that party, they will exclude him. They have legally excluded him.
They should come up with another party chairman, not his wife because the response of the European Socialist Parties will be undoubtedly the same. This is the political rhetoric of 19th-century dictatorships. A party that is once taken by the wife and after by the husband” said Ngjela.
