Today is Global Autism Awareness Day, a day that aims to raise awareness of all the layers of society, regarding the disorders of the autism spectrum and to improve the lives of those having to live with autism. According to the data of the World Health Organization (WHO), 1 in 160 children in the world is diagnosed with disorders of the different spectrums of autism each year.

In our country, autism began to be recognized in the early 2000s.

Autism is a disorder in the nervous system that affects the child’s ability to socialize normally, which also leads to problems with their verbal and nonverbal communication.

In our country, we are still lacking concrete data about the actual number of autistic children that are born and how many of them are receiving treatment and medical care.

The public institutions treating these children are also very rare in our country. Everything is left up to the private clinics, which for the majority of parents are unaffordable.
