The Port Authority of Durres has announced that the trips planned this Friday from Durres to Bari and Ancona will not be carried out, due to severe weather conditions.

It is also reported that the trip planned for the next day to Ancona will not be carried out as the bad weather will continue throughout the weekend.

Regarding the trips during the following days, the Port Authority informs citizens that there will be a second announcement.

Referring to the forecasts for the weather conditions in the following hours, the cruise companies operating from the Port of Durrës to Bari and vice versa, have announced that:

The two ferries that had planned sailing this evening from the Port of Durrës to Bari, will be canceled; Even the ferries operating from Bari to Durrës will not depart this evening;

Likewise, the Durrës-Ancona line ferry cancels the scheduled sailing for today; The departure of the ferry that was scheduled to sail the next day (dt. 21.01.2023) from Ancona to the Port of Durrës is also canceled.

Based on the data from the Captaincy of the Port of Durrës, it is predicted that the hydrometeorological situation for our country for the dates 20-22 January 2023 will be worse starting from this afternoon, dt. 20.01.2023.

The wind will be in the South-West direction at a force of 7bft to 8bft and with a speed of over 25m/s, the height of the wave will reach up to 4 meters. We are monitoring the situation with priority to ensure the progress and successful handling of the situation.
