Rita Ora never hid the fact she was Albanian, but recently the world-famous singer specified that she was Kosovar, without stressing out that she was Albanian.

This declaration spurred a lot of backlashes recently, leading to the singer having to clarify things.

While invited on ‘Wired’, the singer was asked the question, “Is Rita Ora Albanian?’ to which she answered by saying that ‘Albanian’ and ‘Kosovar’ is the same thing.

“Yes, I’m Albanian but let me just tell you, it’s a bit complicated, right? Kosovo is now independent, which it wasn’t back in the day. So technically yes, for years I would say I’m Albanian, I’m Albanian but I’m actually Kosovan, but it’s really very much, it’s similar,” said Rita Ora.
