Shemsi Prençi, former director of Civil Emergencies had a heated debate with the deputy minister of agriculture, Arian Jaupllari, on Euronews Albania’s “Now with Erla Mehilli” regarding the situation created by the recent floods.
According to Jaupllari, there is no reason to declare a state of national disaster because they have monitored the situation closely on the ground, a statement that was contradicted by Prenci who listed several reasons why according to him, all the conditions to declare the state of a national disaster are currently in place.
“You have to report this because all of your drainage systems are out of work. Please, sir, you didn’t have any of your drainage systems at work on the 19th, none, as you reported, were at work due to the lack of electricity,” said Prenci.
