Orthodox Christians celebrated on Thursday the Day of the Holy Water. As per tradition, the priest throws a cross in the water and youngsters jump in icy cold temperatures to catch it believing that it brings good health and prosperity.
Dozens of youngsters jumped into the Adriatic Sea, but it was 19-year old Kristi Komini who caught the cross for the second year in a row. Tucking away his emotions, Komini invites everyone to give it a try, referring to faith as a “source of inspiration”.
“It was a pleasure as always. It was a beautiful experience and as a person who believes in God, I am proud of myself”, said Kristi.

The religious Christian holiday was celebrated across the southern part of Albania.
It was Monsignor Joan Pelushi who presided over the ceremony, praying for peace and harmony.
At the end of the ceremony, the worshippers filled cups brought from home with water believed to be blessed and share with family members to distribute peace and prosperity.
