North Macedonia’s PM, Zoran Zaev, hasn’t preferred to single out any of the candidates from his two Albanian allies – the BDI coalition and Besa Movement – that will be running against each other in the country’s runoffs.

The head of LSDM said that it will be up to the voters to decide who wins, in the communes where both these parties will be running against one another, which include Tetovo and Zhelina.

LSDM did however confirm their support for BDI’s candidates in all of the communes, where they are running against the opposition.

“In Struga, we show our support for Ramiz Merkos, in Kercovo we show our support for Fatmir Deharit, in Gostivar we show our support for Nevzat Bejtes, in Cair we support Visar Ganiu and vice-versa, in all communes, we expect their support. Anywhere else, where the race will be held between both of our partners, BDI collation and Besa, we leave it up to citizens to decide,” – said Zaev.

Meanwhile, the Albanian opposition is continuing its inter-party consultations, in regards to a possible collaboration with Besa in Tetovo, including in several other communes, where they will be going against candidates of BDI, during the runoffs for the 2021 Local Elections.

The Alliance for Albanians has on numerous occasions expressed their support for Besa’s candidate in Tetovo, but this will be officially settled on after the end of consultations amongst opposition allies.

VMRO-DPMNE declared from the city of Ohrid, that in the upcoming runoffs, they will be offering their support to all candidates, that according to them have come out against the current administration, including the independent candidate in Kumanova.
