Tirana’s Zoo is filled with chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits, donkeys and cows.
A big space has been devoted to them and plastic dolls are set up all around the park.
Even though many were expecting to see an elephant or a giraffe, these animals can’t be found anywhere in the zoo.
From the wild world, visitors can watch the lion, tiger, wolf, fox, lama, deer, and ostrich.
The board also shows a place where visitors can find lemurs, a species that grows in Madagascar but staff has said that the animal still hasn’t arrived at the zoo.
Over the years, this zoo has housed 32 different species of animals and 12 species of birds.
This investment has cost 7 million euros and is spread over 6 hectares of land.
The zoo was inaugurated by PM Edi Rama and mayor Erjon Veliaj. In order to go inside, adults have to pay the regular ticket price from 200 to 300 ALL, whereas children have to pay 100-200 ALL.
Skopje in North Macedonia has had a zoo since 1926 and over the year it has been adding different kinds of animals.
Skopje has fewer residents than Tirana but its zoo is more than half of ours with 495 animals, of 96 different species.
Visitors there can see all different kinds of animals from camels to elephants, giraffes and seals.
