18 wildfires broke out in the past 24 hours in Albania.
According to data published by the National Operational Center for Civil Emergencies, 13 of them have been extinguished.
5 active wildfires are currently found in the municipalities of Lezha, Polican, Durres, Perrenjas and Librazhd.
The ministry of defense has announced that firefighting teams are working on keeping the active fire under control.
“Wildfires in the county of Elbasan have been isolated, along with the one in Prrenjas in the protected forest of Starova and the village of Funaras in Librazhd. Today, operational forces started their intervention for the last extinguishing mission,” – declared the ministry in their notice.
The ministry of defense has called on citizens to be careful in their use of devices that can cause fires, especially during the hotter days of the month.
In the past 24 hours, 26 fire extinguishing vehicles and 99 firefighters have been involved in the fire extinguishing missions.
