Devoll and Divjaka have been added to the other 3 cities where bird flu has been proliferating for over a week now.
The news was confirmed by the ministry of agriculture during a briefing on the current situation with bird flu in our country.
“At the moment, we have confirmed a new outbreak in the Fier district, the municipality of Divjake and Devoll. After the identification of new outbreaks, we will need to add more measures in order to keep the situation at bay,”- said deputy minister Ermira Gjeci.
The death of over 382 thousand birds has forced the District Prosecution of Durres to launch an investigation against several companies and public officials.
They are investigating possible abuse of power or violations of the quarantine.
So far, no one has been found responsible but investigators have called several operators in for questioning and will conduct further monitoring.
