Ukrainian journalist Lyudmila Makey is settled in Kosovo after Russian forces attacked her home city.

The Kosovo Association of Journalists announced on Sunday that Lyudmila Makey had arrived in Prishtina, as part of the ‘Journalists in Residence in Kosovo’.

Makey is expected to continue her work from Prishtina.

After her arrival at Prishtina’s Airport, she gave a statement about how dangerous it was to be a journalist in Ukraine, while also stating that Russian forces had killed at least 21 reporters so far.

“I thank all of you who made it possible for me to come to Kosovo. This program allows me to continue my profession as a journalist. I am deeply touched by the fact that people who are completely foreign to you, offer to help. I believe that our cooperation and solidarization with other journalists will be an important step for peace,” – said Makey.
