This Monday, the second protest will take place for the death of 7-year-old Jonada Avdia, by a citizen driving a speedboat in southern Albania.
Protesters will once again call for the resignation of the Minister of the Interior, Bledi Cuci and the Minister of Tourism, Mirela Kumbaro.
Protestors have said that if the ministers do not resign, there will be daily protests until their subsequent dismissal, while the resignation of the General Director of Police, Gladis Nano, will also be demanded.
The itinerary is expected to be the same as Thursday’s protest, where initially the protesters will gather at 19:30 PM in front of the Ministry of the Interior, to then march towards the Prime Minister’s Office.
On August 2, citizen Arjan Tase hit a 7-year-old girl to death, while allegedly performing dangerous maneuvers with a speedboat on the beach of Potami in Himare.
At the time, he was serving as a police officer, after which he was dismissed from the police force by the direct order of Director General, Gladis Nano.
In relation to this fatal incident, the Court of Vlora has ordered the arrest and imprisonment for former officer Arjan Tase.
