From today, the Kukes airport will start to offer a brand-new list of flight routes heading to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland through the low-cost airline, WizzAir.
Present in the inauguration ceremony in Kukes were different state officials including PM Edi Rama.
In his opening speech, Rama said that very soon, Kukes Airport will also be offering a new low-cost direct line to London.
“Starting from today, this company will be offering 4 new flight routes that will be operating twice a week,” – said Rama.
Minister of infrastructure Belinda Balluku, announced that this airport has also passed an official safety test from NATO.
The Kukes Aiport offers a 2.200-meter-long runway that is designed to allow the simultaneous landing of 3 commercial planes.
This is the second civil airport operating in Albania, along with the Rinas International Airport.
