Six citizens died on Friday from COVID-19, while another 2,670 tested positive.

The health minister confirmed a total of 216,785 recoveries, an increase by 2,151 from yesterday’s figures.

In total, there are an estimated 24,105 active infections, of which 134 have been admitted for specialized care at the hospital.

Public health authorities urged all unvaccinated citizens older than 16 to get the jab.

While citizens who were vaccinated more than 6 months ago are now eligible for a booster shot.

In its daily brief, the ministry also called on citizens to respect the measures in order to break the chain of infections, including wearing a mask in all indoor public spaces and avoiding large gatherings.

The official COVID-19 death toll in Albania is 3,292.
