Citizens consuming more than 700 kilowatts of energy per hour will be faced with a rise in their electricity bill.
Even though PM Edi Rama declared a few days ago, that this group only makes up about 5% of Albanian consumers, economy expert Klodian Muco said that 60% of Albanian families actually spend more than 700 kilowatts/hour.
“Based on the payslips leaked back in December, Albanian families consuming more than 700 kilowatts/hour will definitely be affected,” – said Muco.
Muco was also sceptical about the methodology behind this threshold.
The expert also added that Albanian families spend 60% of their total budget for food and electricity, whereas in the EU that only account for around 18% of the budget.
This is why, according to Muco, the rise in electricity prices will take a heavy toll on Albanian families.
