This Saturday, citizens from all over the country came together in the 8th protest against the recent price hikes and what they’re calling the “government’s poor management of the global oil crisis”.

Today, protestors have announced that they will be protesting for the next 24 hours, whereas some of the onlookers told Euronews Albania that their response will be based on the protest’s continuity.

Several others were seen holding the Ukrainian flag along with protest signs. According to them, this is a response to the prime minister’s arrogance.

In addition, they added that standing in support for what happening in Ukraine doesn’t mean they can’t stand up for their rights back home.

The protest started at Skanderbeg square where citizens got together and marched towards the PM’s Office, where they will make their remarks.

Police officers have been deployed in several different areas in the capital city and are closely monitoring the situation. So far, no incidents have been registered, but police did make several arrests.

PM Rama on the other hand has continued his mocking of the citizens getting together in these protests. According to him, they are just looking to stir up a commotion and they should feel ashamed of themselves.
