Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, during an interview for “Me Pak Fjalë” (In a Few Words) on Euronews Albania, said that Albania and Kosovo have “intensified” their cooperation in several sectors, however, he asserted that there is still a lot more to be done.
According to the prime minister, there are a handful of areas where the two countries can collaborate to boost their economy.
“They are the same thing. Lifting non-tariff barriers, facilitating the movement of people, goods, capital, and services. A lot has been achieved, but of course, much more can be done. I don’t want to make comments to create spaces for misinterpretations. I think that at a specific point in time it was very much in focus, and then not so much during another period, not from our side, but due to their own reasons”, said PM Rama.
Asked by journalist Neritan Sejamini whether the prime minister supports the creation of a single market between Albania and Kosovo, PM Rama said that a potential Western Balkans market is more far-reaching, and that is his “personal conviction”.
“There are many areas to be integrated, but I insist that a large potential market would be for the entire region, not only the Kosovo-Albania market but the whole region. This is my conviction”, added Rama.
