The leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha held a virtual meeting with important figures from the British Conservative Party and the adviser to the Board of Trade Daniel John Hannan.

The leader of the opposition said that DP’s motto is based on a “need for change” in order to bring economic growth and a guaranteed path towards EU membership.

“The essence of this plan is to improve the business climate, 9% flat tax, lowering taxes for all people and businesses, which will impact directly small and medium enterprises which are the quintessence of the Albanian economy, but also creating a climate that will bring more investments to Albania”, said Basha.

“In order to bring investments here, we need a competitive and favorable business climate and low taxes, but also a professional labor market that is well trained”, he added.

The adviser to the Board of Trade Daniel J. Hannan said that he’s aware of Albania’s potential for development while blaming “mismanagement” for its current state.

“I am very encouraged by your optimism as I was myself convinced the last time I was in Tirana that Albania is a country with a great potential, which has simply been poorly managed for a long time”, said Hannan.

Furthermore, Hannan said that he is looking forward to eventually meet Basha in London as “the Prime Minister of a free Albania” and with a “Western orientation” extending his wishes for a successful outcome in the elections.
