During his visit to Bulgaria, PM Edi Rama held a press conference with his homolog, Stefan Yanev. Albania’s prime minister made an appeal from Sofia for the relations between Bulgaria and North Macedonia to be resolved.
Rama also stated that where’s there’s a will there’s a way, and that with the goodwill of North Macedonia and Bulgaria, both countries can ultimately overcome their barriers.
The prime minister also added that nothing can separate Albania from the first Intergovernmental Conference with the EU, but for the time being, he is respecting both Bulgaria and North Macedonia.
On the other hand, the Bulgarian prime minister, Stefan Janev stated that the “deadlock” between Bulgaria and North Macedonia can only be resolved through dialogue, not the intervention of third parties while pointing out that his country doesn’t want to stand in the way of North Macedonia’s integration to the EU.
