The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, attended the NATO Summit in Brussels, the country’s first as a full member.
PM Zaev met NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg as well as Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, whose country has vetoed North Macedonia’s bid to start accession talks with the EU.
“We are committed to the vision of the Balkans for the 21 Century, as a region of peace, stability and increased regional cooperation for economic benefits and prosperity for all citizens”, said Zaev, asserting that it is important that all Western Balkan countries have a “crystal clear” Western orientation and warning of threats in leaving a vacuum in the region.
“We need predictable, credible and intensified integration processes in the EU and NATO”, added Zaev.
