The trial of Albania’s former General Prosecutor Adriatik Lalla at the Special Appeal Court has been postponed to July 29.

Euronews Albania journalist Eni Ferhati reports that the reason behind the delay is the absence of Llalla’s attorney, while the latter did not justify the reason why he could not attend the trial and was fined 20,000 Albanian Lek fine (€163).

During today’s trial at the Special Appeal Court against Corruption and Organized Crime, SPAK was to be represented by two prosecutors, namely Enkeleda Millonai and Manjola Kajana.

On May 20, the Special Court declared Albania’s former prosecutor-general guilty for “refusing to declare” and “hide wealth” and sentence him to 2 years, as well as barring him from holding a public post for 5 years.
