US ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim brought back to the public attention, a memorandum of the White House, dedicated to the fight against corruption.

The ambassador said that corrupt individuals have to accept responsibility for their own actions. None of those designated in the non-grata list, according to Kim, should except to be subject to ‘negotiations’, nor should others pretend to act like ‘mediators’.

In addition, ambassador Kim noted that many of those declared non-grata, might blame conspiracies for what happened to them but the facts, she says, are clear.

“President Biden has made it clear that America will hold accountable those who engage in corruption,” – wrote ambassador Kim on her social network, ending her statement with a link to memorandum 7031 (c) posted by the White House.

A few months ago, the US Department of State banned entry to US soil, to several political figures, including former PM, Sali Berisha and members of his immediate family, over allegations of involvement in extensive corruption.

In the statement made by US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, regarding Berisha, it said that when the latter served in high-ranking public functions, especially during his time as the country’s prime minister, he was involved in corruptive affairs, which included the misuse of public funds as well as intervening in public processes.

Berisha has denied all the above-mentioned accusations and asked the party making them, to publish the evidence they have against him.
