‘Albania must be patient when it comes to integration; no decoupling with North Macedonia’, said the Slovenian ambassador to Albania, Peter Japelj.
“In the beginning, we were discussing about whether or not North Macedonia should be decoupled from Albania, whereas today, it’s the complete opposite. We still think that this isn’t a good idea and for a couple of reasons. This is why I believe we need to be a little patient,” – he said on Euronews Albania’s ‘Morning’.
The ambassador also underlined that the First Intergovernmental Conference (IGC) will be held soon.
“As I said earlier. Mrs. Lührmann was very clear when she said that the first IGC will be held soon. In the long term, if the present situation isn’t resolved then we need to start a debate so that a solution can actually be found. What is most important at the end of the day, is the result. So, the process is going to be a long one,” – he said.
