China’s ambassador to Albania, Zhuo Ding, has expressed his views against the use of nuclear weapons by Russia in Ukraine.
During a visit at the University of Korca, Ding said that no one wants to see a war, let alone a nuclear one.
“This is an important topic for me and all those present. It is certain that no one wants to see a war, let alone a nuclear war. In regards to the war in Ukraine, as diplomats, we don’t know what’s actually going on there but as diplomats, our duty is to push for peace and cooperation,” – said Ding.
According to the Chinese ambassador, war will damage peace, the economy, and worldwide security. Ding also underlined that Russia and Ukraine should find a solution and negotiate for peace.
Russia’s foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, declared that today, there’s a possibility that the conflict in Ukraine could escalate to the use of nuclear weapons.
Lavrov also accused the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy of putting up an act when it comes to the peace talks between both countries, by calling him a “very good actor”.
