During today’s discussions regarding the annual report of the High Inspectorate of Wealth Audit and Declaration, DP’s caucus chairman, Enkeljed Alibeaj, asked this institution to react quicker to instances of conflict of interest that get denounced by the press.
By bringing to the attention the controversial case of foreign minister, Olta Xhacka and her husband who is being accused by the opposition of breaking the law by becoming a strategic investor in a resort in southern Albania, Alibeaj argued that he has directly profited from his wife’s position of power.
In addition according to him, the ILDKPKI should have already taken a stance and made its position known to the wider public.
Socialist MPs on the other hand, argued that you can’t ask this institution to take on the role of SPAK or any other prosecution for that matter.
