Euronews Albania has asked the office of the European Union, if it has changed its position regarding the fiscal amnesty.
In response, it is said that the EU still has serious concerns about the current draft and that consultations with the government will continue.
“The European Union has serious concerns about the current draft law on fiscal amnesty. We will continue consultations with the relevant government structures to review this legislation”, the EU office emphasized.
Prime Minister Edi Rama invited the ambassadors accredited to our country to a meeting this morning, where he was going to discuss the fiscal amnesty, but at the last moment he decided to not show up.
The informal meeting, held at “Vila 30” in the capital city, was attended by the Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhacka and the chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party, Taulant Balla.
The meeting started at 09:00 and lasted for about 60 minutes, where the ambassadors of the EU, USA and Great Britain were also present.
