The Minister of the Interior, Bledi Cuci, was asked during a routine press conference this Thursday about the theft of thousands of euros in the apartment of former senior official Alda Klosi.
In his response, Cuci said that the investigation is in the hands of the prosecution and that the prosecution body should be asked about the investigation and everything pertaining to the money that was found.
In addition, he said that as long as the case is under investigation, he reserves the full legal right not to provide any information.
“We have to understand very well the goals of the institutions and this case has now passed the goal of the police and is within the doors of the prosecutor’s office. If you want an answer regarding this issue, you should ask the prosecutor’s office. If the matter is under investigation, the full legal right to withhold information is reserved. At this moment, the police are only doing what the prosecutor delegates. All management of this case is done by the prosecutor, who does not depend on either the Minister of the Interior or the Minister of Justice, because they are independent”, said Cuci.
