The Democratic MP in Vlora, Fation Veizaj, has given up his mandate in Parliament.
The news was announced by Veizaj himself through a post on his Facebook page.
Veizaj calls the new wave of exceptions in the Democratic Party excessive, which according to him, further reduces the credibility and seriousness of the future of the decision-making group.
“Democrats are right in their anger, frustration, and even their sarcasm. I have experienced all three of these sensations during these days. In this turbulent time for the Democratic Party, I have tried not to feed the division, to stand by the voters, and to respect their beliefs, but recent developments have shown that the division in the Democratic Party is irreversible. By categorically rejecting the exceptions on the one hand, but also the method used by certain individuals in search of personal power, without respecting the dignity of the elected MPs and consequently deepening the division on the other hand, I have decided to give up my mandate and seat in Parliament,” wrote Veizaj.
The mandate left by Fation Veizaj is now expected to go to Gezim Ademaj.
