The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, declared that today, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha will be reported to SPAK regarding the January 21 murders.

In a statement to the press, Manja said that the former Minister of the Interior, Lulzim Basha, and the former commander of the Republic Guard, Ndrea Prendi, will also be charged.

According to him, the recently released audio recording, according to which Prendi gave clear instructions and orders to his subordinates to open fire against the innocent protestors, constitutes new evidence, and this is why he has asked SPAK to investigate.

“As I warned 2 days ago, today we will submit to SPAK the criminal complaint against the former high officials of the state, at the time when the events of January 21, 2011 took place. We will report to SPAK the former prime minister, Sali Berisha, the former Minister of the Interior and the former commander of the Guard of the Republic.

But also the entire chain of command of the National Guard, which came out after the publication of new evidence in the media. It is time for the Special Prosecutor’s Office to do justice for January 21. January 21 has never been investigated as a state murder. The proof made public a few days ago clearly shows that there was a chain of command and clear orders to shoot at the protesters on January 21, 2011,” he emphasized.
