The acting chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (DPK), Enver Hoxhaj, said that DPK does not support Vjosa Osmani’s candidacy for president of the country.

At a press conference, Hoxhaj said that Osmani is not a unifying figure but divisive and that she is politically influential.

“DPK does not support the candidacy of Vjosa Osmani. She has been a divisive figure; she has raised her career in the spirit of divisiveness. Secondly, she is a party candidate, not consensual to be a president. She has been biased in doing the job of acting president, she is the first to have used the office to create a political party,” he said.

He said the country’s president should be politically independent.

“Osmani is not guided by principles, she is more guided by calculations and the example is how she behaved regarding the demarcation agreement with Montenegro,” Hoxhaj added.

The acting Chairman of the DP said that in case Vjosa Osmani is elected president she would concentrate all power in the hands of one party and one man.
