Asked by the Barometer in Euronews Albania regarding how many books they have read during the year (2022), 74.8% of Albanians answered none.
Meanwhile, only 7.6% have read a book, 11.8% of them have read 2-3 books, 2.7% have read 4-5 books, and 2.3% have read more than 5 books.
In addition, this figure increases slightly when it comes to being asked about buying a book with 78.2% of Albanians saying that they haven’t bought any books during 2022.
Meanwhile, 7.2% of Albanians have bought only 1 book, 10% have bought 2-3 books, 1.9% have bought 4-5 books and 1.9% of them bought more than 5 books.
Most Albanians not only don’t buy books, but they also don’t even give them as gifts. 74.8% of respondents said they didn’t give a book to someone, while only 25.2% responded positively. 74.1% of Albanians have not received a book as a gift and only 25.5% said they had.
Methodology
These findings were extrapolated from Euronews Albania’s Barometer in collaboration with MRB and Data Centrum, which conducted 1.000 face-to-face interviews with Albanian adults over the age of 18, on a national scale from October 28 – November 28, 2022.
