During the first trimester of 2022, Albania has been buying cooking oil, steel, oil, and building materials from Russia.
In January-March, the value of goods bought from Russia was 3.3 billion ALL, whereas their general weight came down to 44 thousand tons.
Imports from Russia make up 2-3% of Albania’s total, whereas the high value of the purchases made this year, speaks to the rise in prices.
INSTAT stated that Albania bought around 2800 tons of oil and gas from Russia this year, or 87% less than last year.
On the other hand, the demand for steel and oil went up considerably by 11 thousand tons of steel and 2400 tons of cooking oil.
The total value of goods bought by Albania this year was 207 billion ALL but our trade with Russia will continue to be limited due to our country siding with the sanctions imposed on Russia by the West.
