Amber Kotrri, the owner of a small boutique called “House of Zana” won a legal battle with the fashion giant, Zara.

Ms. Kotrri, whose husband is Albanian, named the boutique “Zana”, an Albanian name, because the Zanas are mythological creatures present in the Albanian folklore which are often described as ‘mountain fairies or the most beautiful of beauties’.

“House of Zana”, is based in Darlington. A few months ago, representatives of the ZARA company told Amber that although her business wasn’t identical to theirs, there were similarities between the two brands that could confuse customers.

However, Amber was determined to fight for her brand and was even offered support from people around the world.

Finally, she was able to succeed, and share the news on her social media profile, publicly thanking all those who supported her.

Amber, who studied art and design, started her own online business back in 2018.

The success of the store in Grange Road, Darlington, has seen it expand to Teesside Airport and reach a global online clientele.
