DP’s caucus leader, Enkelejd Alibeaj, will be holding a meeting at the Democratic Party headquarters this Thursday, with MPs who have expressed their willingness to participate in the process of electing the new president.
The meeting has been planned for 10:30 am and is expected to include discussions on the third round of voting for the new head of state.
The third round is set to take place on May 30, at 10:00 am. Like in the previous rounds, the ruling Socialist Party won’t present a candidature for president during the third round.
The first two rounds failed due to a lack of candidatures presented by either side.
A few days ago, Alibeaj declared that the process has turned into a farse. He accused Socialists of violating an agreement reached between DP’s caucus and the Socialist Party.
