The Democratic Party can’t defend the interests of Democrats by having individuals or even worse, a non-grata leader.

This is what DP’s acting leader, Enkelejd Alibeaj, said during a press communication from DP’s headquarters.

Alibeaj said that he had asked Berisha to present his resignation, the same as former chair Lulzim Basha, even though according to him, Berisha has already rejected these claims, because he has the majority.

According to Alibeaj, it’s in the better interest of Democrats to be united and share the same values and support of European nations and the US – which are the very foundations upon which the DP was built on back in the 90s.

“DP cannot build a future by looking towards the past,” – said Alibeaj.

In addition, he said that DP will be appealing the court’s decision on the party’s National Assembly on Dec 11, which was called and organised by former PM Sali Berisha.
