US Ambassador Yuri Kim criticized Thursday the gesture of former prime minister Sali Berisha at the podium of the Albanian Parliament.
Ambassador Kim said that Berisha’s move in shoving away Alibeaj is a behavior that ‘belongs to the past that should not be repeated’.
Sali Berisha tried to take the podium, although it was not his turn to address the parliament, after PM Edi Rama called him ‘a dead man’, and said that he would never cooperate with the Democratic Party if Berisha becomes its leader.
However, as per procedure, while it was Alibeaj’s turn to replicate to PM Rama, Berisha walked up to him and asked the acting DP leader to leave.
The days of storming buildings, beating or shoving others off podiums, threatening those who rightly say “no!”, accusing others of the misdeeds one has committed, perverting the rule of law, counting on impunity – those days belong to a past that should not be repeated. 🇺🇸🇦🇱🗽
