Three days ago, attorneys of former KLA leaders at Kosovo’s Specialized Chambers in The Hauge, submitted a request to the district Prosecution.
The defense team representing Haxhim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi has asked the accusing party to disclose the evidence that Serbia submitted against the former KLA leader and Kosovo institutions.
“Serbia continues to be committed to disinformation campaigns against Kosovo and the KLA, with the only aim of destabilizing the country. According to regulation 103, we are asking the judge of the preliminary procedure to order the Office of the Prosecutor to disclose all information they possess, which were submitted by Serbia,” – states the request which was submitted on July 13.
Since November 2020, Thaci, Veseli, Selimi, and Krasniqi are being held in a detention center in The Hague, where they have pleaded not guilty to accusations pending against them.
In a document submitted to the accusing body in The Hague Tribunal, they are accused of unfairly detaining at least 12 people from July 4, 1998 – April 29, 1999.
They are also being accused of war crimes during the period beginning in March 1998 – September 1999.
