Tirana’s City Hall and state authorities presented several new buses that will be added to the city’s public transit system.

During this presentation, they also called for the need to substitute fuel-burning cars with electric vehicles.

Infrastructure minister Belinda Balluku said that the government is stimulating whoever switches to electric cars with lower taxes.

“We will be reimbursing every registration tariff to all first-time owners of electric cars by lifting all taxes on physical check-ups, national driving permits, ownership certificates, and license plate registration. In total, a single tariff of up to 7500 ALL is covered entirely by DPSHTR and the VAT tax will be lowered from 20 to 6%,” – said Balluku.
