Barometer confirms: Vacations are a luxury for Albanians

68.6% of Albanians did not take a vacation this summer and only 31.3% of them took a vacation this summer.

This was the result of the survey conducted by Euronews Albania’s Barometer, in collaboration with MRB and Data Centrum which carried out 1000 face-to-face interviews, from September 9-21 2022, at a national level.

Amongst those who took a vacation, the age group from 18-24 years prevails with 48.1%, followed by 35-44 years old with 39.2%, 25-34 years with 36.1%, 45-54 years with 26.4%, 55-64 years with 20.8 % and 65-75 years old who make up only 15.9% of vacationers.

While among those who did not take a vacation, the age group from 65-75 years old prevails with 84.1%, followed by the age group 55-64 years old with 78.7%, 45-54 years old with 73.6%, 25-34 years old with 63.9%, 35-44 years old with 60.8% and the slightly smaller age group of 18-24 years old with 51.9%.

Taking a vacation was also directly related to income, since of those who took vacations, 54.7% were people with a higher income, 35.5% with a higher-than-average income, 23.9% with a low-to-average income, and only 13.5% were people with a low income.

While among those who have not taken a vacation, people with low incomes occupy 86.5%, followed by those with low average incomes at 76.1%, people with high average incomes at 64%, and people with higher incomes occupy only 45.3% of people who have not taken a vacation.
