The leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha met the head of the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission, Urszula Gacek.
In a press conference held after the meeting, Basha said to have discussed with Gacek over the primary recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR report, which according to him, ‘proves the electoral massacre’.
Lulzim Basha also declared that the Democratic Party is determined to have an electoral reform.
‘We have a team led by Enkeled Alibeaj and very soon we’ll send a request to the Assembly for the establishment of a group tasked to work on the electoral reform’, he said.
The leader of the opposition drew parallelism between the elections and the “death of democracy in Albania”, and compared Albania to Belarus.
‘I am sure that Lukashenko has good laws too, but Albania cannot and will not be like Belarus. This OSCE/ODIHR report points out that there is no difference between Albania and Belarus’, Basha said.
Asked about the reason why Democrats decided to return to parliament, Basha responded to restore legitimacy in the country.
The ODIHR Mission also met on Wednesday with the General Secretary of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri.
