Analyst Baton Haxhiu said on Monday that he doesn’t expect any positive outcome from the meeting that will be hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz with Kosovo PM Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
According to Haxhiu, Scholz doesn’t have anything to offer on the table amid an ongoing war in Ukraine and after Vucic is already under a lot of pressure.
“I skeptical that anything will come out of this meeting”, Haxhiu said for Shock on Euronews Albania.
Meanwhile, analyst Andi Bushati says the current state of the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue is ‘dead’, while the latter will never recognize the former’s independence.
Bushati adds that the dialogue is ‘worthless’ for as long as Belgrade is not really looking for a permanent settlement.
In fact, the analyst claims that this time the West might even ‘sacrifice’ Kosovo, in order to take Serbia away from Putin’s claws.
“In a geopolitical context, the situation is not in Kosovo’s favor”, said Bushati.
Germany won’t allow a similar scenario to that in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Haxhiu, however he believes Kosovo will feel even more pressured if Montenegro, led by ethnic Albanian Dritan Abazovic, decides to join Open Balkan.
