Analyst Baton Haxhiu said during Euronews Albania’s political talk-show ‘Shock’ that Sali Berisha is unable to build a movement against Lulzim Basha within the Democratic Party.
He continued by arguing that the aim of the former PM and historic leader of DP is to reclaim the leadership of the party like Fatos Nano did with the Socialist Party, but according to Haxhiu, he will fail.
“Sali Berisha will set out on a mission to reclaim his power, similar to Fatos Nano’s catharsis, but he will destroy himself in the process and take his political career with him, because at the moment he is helpless, useless and a failure,” – argued Haxhiu.
The analyst also put an emphasis on the fact that according to him, Berisha “cannot bring another leader to DP, nor can he take back the party’s leadership”.
‘DP gets weaker if Berisha criticizes Basha and he responds like a eunuch’
The Democratic Party will get weaker if Sali Berisha directs a critique of Lulzim Basha while Lulzim Basha stays in his office, said political analyst Andi Bushati on tonight’s ‘Shock’.
“Berisha is going to direct Basha’s critique by dialoguing with the base whereas Basha is going to stay in his office, holding the party’s stamp, acting like a eunuch,” – said Bushati.
In turn, Bushati added that the Albanian public is disappointed with the way the leader of DP acted towards Berisha. This makes Basha weaker and not only him, but the entire Democratic Party, argued the analyst.
