Sali Berisha challenged Prime Minister Edi Rama this Friday in passing a bill in parliament that would exclude heads of governments from the statute of limitations for criminal offenses.

In a press conference held from the headquarters of the Democratic Party, Berisha said Rama will not dare accept his challenge as he’s afraid of the various corruptive affairs he has put his signature on.

“It’s been a month that you’re exerting incredible Stalin-like pressure on justice, to inquire into your opponents. If you’re a real man, I will say it here in front of all Albanians, let’s pass a bill in parliament to exclude prime ministers from any statute of limitations”, Berisha said.

He also warned Rama against altering the country’s fate by promoting the Open Balkan, or he will face a national revolt.

Berisha also took aim at US Ambassador Yuri Kim and what he called a “personal attack” against him “ahead of the internal elections of the DP”.

Ambassador Yuri Kim has said that the US will cut ties with the political force if Berisha is elected to the chair post.

Berisha on the other hand made a plea to the United States asking to stop their diplomatic representative from interfering with DP’s internal affairs.

According to him, the American diplomat is trying to choose the person she wants to be the next leader of the Democratic Party.
