Head of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha, demands an investigation into the former Chief Democrat, Lulzim Basha, regarding the Russian funding that this political force may have benefited from back in 2017.
In a statement to the media, Berisha said that any doubt linking the Democratic Party to Russian funds should be removed.
“Pledging that we will set up an auditing commission, to make fully transparent whatever is up to us to do so, I request the opening of a full investigation to remove any doubts that may connect the DP with Russian funds.
In this case, I guarantee the Albanians and the partners of Albania, that the Democratic Party has been, is, and will remain the party of national interests, vocation, and Euro-Atlantic orientation of the Albanian nation. Also, the Democratic Party and Sali Berisha have continuously denounced and opposed through numerous protests, and we strongly condemn the Serbian-Russian orientation of Albania’s current foreign policy”, he emphasized.
