“Prime Minister Rama is under international investigation, after a probe that was launched in the United States against the former director of counter-intelligence at the FBI, Charles McGonigal”.
This is what the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, said this Friday in a statement for the media from DP’s headquarters.
Berisha also said that Rama is under investigation because of a private email that was found in McGonigal’s official email, in which he allegedly asks him to find a company for an anti-corruption problem.
“This McGonigal was on Myler’s team but is himself being investigated for ties to the Russians. The judge orders any records and materials in his possession documenting any personal communications, including, but not limited to, text messages, electronic emails, voice messages, letters, and notes, between Charles McGonigal regarding the following matters, including Prime Minister Edi Rama.
In McGonigal’s official email there is a private email sent from Edi Rama. Edi Rama asked his friend McGonigal to find him a company for an anti-corruption problem. But the FBI categorically forbids this. Meanwhile, McGonigal came to Albania, registered his business company, so you tell me, is this the judge’s mandate?”, claimed DP’s chairman.
