Once prime minister, then parliament speaker, and lastly president, Ilir Meta returned to his political life today, after the end of his term as president.

During SMI’s National Convention, he stated that out of the 3 high-level functions he has served in, the one he felt the best in was president, and he can’t wait to return for a second mandate.

“In the past 5 years, I’ve been standing at a height from which I could see everything and I acquired a perspective that I lacked before. I’ve seen the danger that threatens our country’s sovereignty as well as the independence of Kosovo,” – said Meta.

In addition, Meta called the current situation an extraordinarily critical one, while adding that he asks all citizens to start taking on some responsibility because can no longer leave their trust up to the current political class.
