After Gjirokastra and Berat, the Commission of Appeals and Sanctions will continue reviewing other counties whose results have been challenged by the Democratic Party, the Socialist Movement for Integration, and independent candidates.

The meeting will start at 10 AM, while the commission will initially decide whether it will proceed to reopen electoral material boxes from 24 voting stations in Berat or review complaints that have been filed for other counties.

In total, there are 18 complaints deposited to CAS.

Nine were submitted by the Democrats who request to repeat the voting process in the counties where they claim electoral fraud.

The Socialist Movement for Integration has submitted 5 complaints, seeking both recounting and repeat voting in the contested counties.

On Friday, the Commission of Appeals and Sanctions decided to unseal boxes containing voting records from 25 voting stations in Berat.

The decision came after complaints filed by SMI and DP.

Also, CAS overturned DP’s request to acquire further evidence from other state institutions.
