Residents of Tirana reveal how important local elections are to them

89% of the citizens of Tirana are aware that on May 14, they vote to elect the Mayor.

8.9% of the citizens of the capital are aware that there are elections but do not know the date, while 2% do not know that there are local elections.

Asked by Barometer in Euronews Albania how important local elections are to them, 56.95 of Tirana’s citizens answered saying that they are important.

For 23.6% of the capital’s residents, local elections are very important.

Meanwhile, 13% of the capital’s residents do not consider local elections important, and for 5.5% of Tirana’s citizens, the elections for the mayor are not important at all.

Of those who think that elections are not important at all, 18.8% are men and 18.1% are women.

Analyzing the data, it turns out that elections are more important for the elderly than for the rest of Tirana’s citizens.

If we look at the age groups of those who say that local elections are not important, 22.8% belong to the age group of 18-24 years, 20% belong to the age group of 25-34 years, 22.9% are 35-44 years old, 21.8% are 45 -54 years old and there is a discount to 12.6% in the 55-64 age group going to 9.9% in the 65-75 age group.

42.2% of citizens who think that local elections are not important at all are not politically identified, 17.7% are DP voters and 9.9% are SP voters.
