Deputy PM and reconstruction minister Arben Ahmetaj declared after today’s government meeting that he has approved an additional fund for the country’s reconstruction process.
The deputy PM said that the municipality of Durres has requested an extra $16 million dollars added to their reconstruction fund but he didn’t specify whether or not this request was approved.
“After the assessment made by the Institute of Construction, the City of Durres has requested that an extra 16 million dollars get allocated to their reconstruction fund so that they can complete their reconstruction work,” – said Ahmetaj.
Ahmetaj also added that the reconstruction process after the 2019 earthquake is undergoing an intense phase.
He underlined that the process is expected to wrap up by fall 2022 while adding that in Kombinat the process has run much slower compared to other areas affected by the earthquake.
