Businesses and citizens are not optimistic about the country’s economic situation this July.

The current state was illustrated by the Bank of Albania in a July survey, where the Economic Sentiment Indicator decreased by 2.5 points.

The decline was determined by worsening confidence in industry, construction, services and trade. Consumers have also maintained the same attitude as in previous months. They said that they do not expect an increase in income, and even their financial situation is expected worsen.

Most of them said that the purchase of basic products has reduced their monthly savings.

The central bank asked random citizens 12 questions about their financial situation, prices, savings and larger purchases.

Data on economic sentiment in the country show that this is not the worst moment, as the most discouraging period was recorded at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
